HIDDEN CAFES IN SINGAPORE
Enjoying a cup of coffee or tea during a casual afternoon is now a trend within everyone. More and more cafes are opening in places that i should say that are quite far away from town and some are even located at remote places. So, i decided to come out with a list cafes to try and for the past two weeks i've decided to plan a hunt to find these cafes that are located quite far away from town or from places that are prone to be crowded and here are the two that i found.
THE LOFT CAFE
268A South Bridge Road (off Smith Street) Singapore 058817
Operating Hours:
Monday: 9.00 AM - 3.00 PM
Tuesday - Sunday : 9.00 AM - 10.00 PM
Contact number: 6221 2103
Website: theloft.com.sg
Situated along Smith Street, the Loft Cafe has been known for a place to relax and chill after a long walk around Chinatown or a gathering place to host birthday celebration or even a casual meet-up place. The cafe offers a range of Coffee or Tea selections and their breakfast menu and belgian waffles and their pancakes are a must try when you visit this place. The cafe is located on the second floor of a shop house and there is a stairway that leads up to the cafe as you walk along Smith Street. The cafe not only has chair and tables, there are comfy sofa seatings so as to allow guests to feel more comfortable and more relaxed. During my trip, it was a challenge to search for cafe but thanks to Google Maps on my iPhone, me and my friend however managed to find it quite quickly. Upon arriving the cafe, we were greeted warmly by the staff and I decided to choose a the chair seating instead of the sofa seating as I was not really comfortable with the sofa seating, which was really weird of me. I decided to order a short stack of Pancakes along side with hot cup of Earl Grey Lavender tea. The pancakes to me were tasty so much better than the ones from strictly pancakes and the tea was a plus point for me. The overall experience was great and i will definitely visit this place again. On a side note, you can additional topping to pancakes.
Total price spend: $12
SUN RAY CAFE
9 Brighton Crescent, Singapore 559218, Singapore
Website: sunray.sg
I actually decided to visit a cafe near me which is in the north east area, however my first choice was supposedly to try out Coffee Daily which was next to Sun Ray Cafe, but, there was too many people at Coffee daily hence, I decided to have a go at the Sun Ray cafe.
Situated along Brighton Crescent ( Serangoon Gardens), Sun Ray Cafe is a pet-friendly cafe that offers a wide selection of set lunch, coffee, tea and desserts which can be found directly on their online menu on their website. Furthermore, the owner has made the cafe pet friendly, so as to allow guests to bring along their pets and dine together. During my trip there, i felt that the the people there had great service and though i did not manage try any food, i can say their Cafe Latte is really good. So in overall, i suggest this place to people who live in the north east area who are cafe lovers to stop by for a cup of coffee or tea along side with a main dish or a side dish. On a side note, the Cafe offers promotions for their set lunches and drinks that can be found on their website so do check it out!
